Yifeng Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Northwest Jiangxi. The Yifeng Fm was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Jiangxi Bureau of Geology in 1977. The naming section is in Shangshanli-Caoshang Villages, Yifeng County, Jiangxi Province. Synonym: Yifeng Gr.
Synonym: (宜丰组)
Lithology and Thickness
The formation is dominated by muddy and sandy rocks, which were metamorphosed to schist, accompanied with diabase, spilite or basic lava, quartz keratophyre. The thickness varies from 614 m to 1688 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The base is conformably transitional into the underlying Hengyong Fm (Xijiang Fm). [Regionally in NW Jiangxi, the next older unit might also be the Xinzi Gr?]
Upper contact
The top is conformably transitional into overlying Xiushui Fm (Caoshang Fm). [Regionally in NW Jiangxi, the next younger unit might also be the Shangshuangjiaoshan Gr?]
Regional extent
It is developed in Yifeng County, Jiangxi. According to the consideration of Jiangxi Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (1997), the formation is roughly equivalent to Jilin Fm plus Anlelin Fm of the Shuangqioshan Gr in the Zhanggong District.
